A Few Quick Notes About Death Beat:

Death:

The act of dying; the end of life; the total and permanent cessation of all the vital functions of an organism.

Extinction; destruction: It will mean the death of our hopes.

Beat:

A. The audible, visual, or mental marking of the metrical divisions of music.

B. A stroke of the hand, baton, etc., marking the time division or an accent for music during performance.

“Yes, Death. Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no to-morrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.” —Oscar Wilde.

Death is a strong and passionate word, much like beat—beating someone to death; moving to the pulsating beat. This being the case, I felt Death Beat would be an appropriate name to call my side-project. It is more of a lifestyle or a cult than a label at all.

The mystery of death, its beauty and grace, the terror, and the fear that dwells within us all, has always fascinated me—the prayer for it at times. The word brings such grave emotions. Beat, to me, is music. It is what I feel in my soul. My body and mind shiver and shake when I hear the endless cadence. Music is as essential as the water I drink; I can’t imagine being born into a life without such beauty.

I have spent the past 15 years on a skateboard beating my body to death. The combination of death and beat conjure images of my life—past, present, and future. Not only are the words intricately related and intertwined, death and beat create contrast. They are as different as night and day, positive and negative—without the beat, it would be my death.

Death Beat Stitches is a side-project; it’s a way to unleash my creativity—t-shirts, hoodies, and other neat accessories produced entirely in my garage. Graphics are 100 percent straight from my imagination. My girlfriend, Rachel, and I will silkscreen each garment—by hand—in our garage. Every graphic will be completely designed, drawn, or thought up by me, as well as printed by the two of us.

Shirts and hoodies will be produced in limited quantities on some of the best quality clothing available. As Death Beat popularizes and demand increases, a larger assortment will be available. Sizes small, medium, large, and extra-large will be available. If you are smaller or larger, let me know, and I will print on a selected size shirt as needed.

Death Beat provides a personalized approach in giving back to my fans for all that they’ve done for me. It will be 100 percent skateboarding and music—evincing my two great passions.

On another note, Death Beat is not a clothing company. It is a lifestyle and image. I am not going to be riding for the brand. We are not going to have a team. Our items will not be available in skate shops or retail stores. I am not making pants, jackets or other fine clothing. I will be screening shirts, hoodies, stickers, hats and other neat accessories. I am sponsored by Ambiguous Clothing, and I support all that they stand for. My signature jeans and jacket, however, are now available through Ambiguous. Death Beat is a way to pursue my creativity and imagination—to create something creepy, strange, and absurd. It’ll be a wild company built on the foundation of fun and eeriness.

One last thing - I will gladly sign any hoodie or t-shirt if you request. During the 4th step of the checkout process please use the COMMENT BOX to leave me a detailed message of what you would like to have signed. Please note that signature requests may slightly delay shipping times due to my busy and unpredictable schedule.

Live fast, skate faster.
